From this experience we suggest cutting around your design as close as you can.

Now if you are going to hand wash your mugs you can probably use either adhesive vinyl or heat transfer vinyl and any of the application methods mentioned.
If you re not sure how durable your acrylic is do a little test.

Let s start off by talking a bit about what the different types of vinyl are.
This experiment is a perfect example of why you need a teflon sheet if the acrylic had melted the melting plastic wouldn t have ruined my iron.
You do need to be cautious when heating glass to make sure it doesn t break.
On fabric you only need to iron the htv for 12 15 seconds but glass needs much longer.

3 weed away the excess vinyl from your design.
It is permanent but does require some knowledge that i will go over below.
This will help eliminate the carrier sheet press marks that can show up on glass we did not do this.
I have found it s a little easier to get it to adhere and it will hide any little flaws that might occur with your design.
I will say my favorite application method for the heat transfer vinyl on a mug was the mini iron.
